When people are in a shopping mood, they may or may not have cash on them.  However, they will have credit cards on their person.  As an entrepreneur, you should always be ready to accept sales, in whatever form they may come.  If you only accept cash, you would be missing out on many opportunities for sales.  You are in the business to gain as many customers as you are able.  When you allow customers who want to purchase your items or services to leave your store, you are showing them that their business is not important to you.  And that could not be further from the truth.  So do your business a favor, and accept credit cards.

Customers count on your business

Customers count on your business

The customers that return back to your business are your best asset.  They come back time after time to visit your establishment to learn if you have anything new to offer them.  So when your customers make a request that you accept credit cards, the least you could do is to listen to them.  Credit cards enable you to keep track of the purchases that they make, and you can even think of incentive programs for the specific items that they purchase.

Credit your customers

At the end of the day, you chose to be in business in order to help customers.  Whatever the product or service that you offer, without customers to offer these to, the business is not likely to survive for very long.  So, when customers have specifically requested that you replace the existing policy of “cash only” to accepting both cash and credit card, consider that suggestion as a gift from your customers.
