When you are travelling for your business, you may think accepting only cash is the best option.  Cash is universal, and everyone should have it.  However, when you think about it, credit cards are universal also.  So, if credit cards are just as universal as cash, why not keep your same policy about accepting credit cards when you are in a different locale?

Credit cards help your business

Credit cards help your business

People may think that cash is the easiest way to pay.  That may be true.  However, when given the choice, most people would rather use cash for something that they couldn’t find as easily.  Studies have shown that when consumers use cash, they wouldn’t really spend as much.  So when you limit your business to receive only cash as payment, you are not doing your business any favors.

Credit Cards

You are an entrepreneur that stands behind your product.  That’s why your customers keep returning.  However, your customers have told you that they would like the option to pay by credit card.  Since your customers have returned despite your cash only policies, you should consider heeding the requests of your customers.  Consider this, if your customers still return and are loyal to you when you haven’t listened to their requests, what would happen if you listened to their requests.

People like to feel productive.  So, in order to feel productive, they do several things at the same time.  While multitasking, people can think of all of the other things they need to do.  Eventually, the multitasker will need to take a break though.  When that time comes, your storefront, virtual or physical, should have everything the shopper is looking for.

Opportunities

Opportunities

In many big cities, there are conventions and street fairs that go on weekly.  Some cities even have a venue dedicated to small businesses in order to help them out.

While only accepting cash seems like the best way, when you are away from your normal business location, it would probably be better for your business to accept credit cards as well.  You may think that by virtue of being in a dedicated business setting, with the benefit of other businesses around you, that customers would remember to bring cash for the day.

The fact of the matter is, though, many people wander into these venues haphazardly.  By not accepting credit cards, you are directly damaging your bottom line, plain and simple.  You will be turning customers who you may never see again, because of your location of the moment, or the fact that you don’t accept credit cards.  The customers that you turn away may have been the type of influential consumers who bring their friends whenever they discover a product previously undiscovered.  So, in reality, you have not lost only one customer because of your cash only policy, but many others who would have directly resulted from the word of mouth garnered from that inital purchase.  Don’t let opportunities to become a topic of discussion pass you by.  Accept credit cards, and turn every opportunity into a sale.  Your business will prosper, and you won’t lose any sleep worrying if you gave customer the wrong idea about your business.  Visit Noblepay.com to learn more.

Good for business

Good for business

It’s been proven by consumer magazines many times over, when people use credit cards to buy products or services, it’s easier to sell add on items to a credit card paying customer than a cash paying customer.  It’s simple math, really, when a person is using cash, they see the harsh numbers in their hands.
